Position: Electrical Engineer (Solar Systems)


Job Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join a reputable solar company. In this role, you will design, develop, and support renewable energy projects, with a focus on solar PV systems. You will be responsible for preparing solar PV designs, developing cost estimates, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and providing on-site technical support during installation and commissioning. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for renewable energy solutions.


Key Responsibilities:


Design & Engineering

  • Design on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid solar PV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
  • Create single-line diagrams (SLD), layout plans, and cable sizing.
  • Conduct site surveys, load calculations, and shading analysis.
  • Run system simulations using tools like PVsyst, Helioscope, or SketchUp.

Bill of Quantities (BOQ) & Procurement

  • Prepare accurate BOQs covering panels, inverters, cables, mounting structures, and balance of system (BoS) components.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure materials align with inventory and project budgets.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare technical proposals, datasheets, and tender documents.
  • Ensure all designs meet local electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Assist in securing necessary approvals and net-metering connections.

Project Support

  • Collaborate with project management and installation teams to solve on-site technical issues.
  • Support system testing, commissioning, and performance monitoring.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience in the solar or renewable energy industry.
  • Technical Skills: * Proficiency in design tools like AutoCAD, PVsyst, or ETAP.
  • Strong understanding of solar inverters, batteries, protection devices, and BOQ preparation.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, report writing, and strong teamwork abilities.
