Position: Assistant Mechanical Engineer (MRT)

Report to: MEP Manager
Job Summary :
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and estimation of MEP systems for MRT projects. The role requires a strong understanding of MEP principles, Mechanical engineering standards, and the ability to prepare accurate and competitive quotations. This position involves close collaboration with the project team, subcontractors, and clients to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Design and draw mechanical and plumbing systems, including HVAC, fire protection, and sanitary systems.
Conduct engineering calculations and create technical specifications and drawings.
Produce technical documentation, including material and equipment data sheets.
Oversee and coordinate the installation of mechanical and plumbing services on-site.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
Conduct site investigations and risk assessments.
Review submittals for technical materials and shop drawings from contractors.
Ensure all designs and installations comply with industry standards and project requirements.
Manage the testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems.
Liaise with contractors, project managers, architects, and other engineers.
Provide technical support and respond to contractor queries.
Assist with bidding and tender documentation, including evaluating technical proposals.
Assist the procurement team in selecting vendors and acquiring necessary equipment.
Monitor the progress of mechanical equipment delivery and installation.
Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in electrical design and MEP systems, with specific experience in metro, railway, or large-scale infrastructure projects preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP).
Experience with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP) is highly desirable.
